Fleet Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a fleet of vessels, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of maritime operations.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
- Operational Management:
- Overseeing, daily fleet operations, including maintenance, repairs, and logistics, while developing strategic plans to enhance performance and efficiency;
- Ensuring that the resources and provisions in the department are adequate;
- Providing continuous leadership and motivation to the staff in the department, including the evaluation and coaching of the staff; continuously building competency within the team, ensuring the processes in the area of responsibility are sufficient and meeting the internal and external requirement.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
Coordinating and managing scheduled maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities to ensure vessel readiness and compliance.
- Budget Management:
Developing and managing budgets for fleet operations, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Ensuring all vessels comply with international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code, etc. Ensuring that any changes to regulations and/or customer or their stakeholders’ requirements have been timely identified and internally/externally communicated, planned and implemented.
- Performance Monitoring:
Monitoring vessel performance, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency, implementing improvements as needed.
- Emergency Response:
Developing and implementing emergency response plans, providing support during incidents and ensuring timely resolution/action.
- Stakeholder Communication:
Maintaining effective communication with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on fleet status and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record as a Fleet Manager or Technical Manager, with substantial experience in managing fleet operations and demonstrated ability in people management and team leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and industry best practices, particularly related to offshore support vessels, passenger vessels, floatels or similar types.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a growing fleet.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant tools.
- Flexibility, proactivity, and readiness to travel globally at short notice.
